Know How to Match Compatibility for Marriage.

Marriage is a very special occasion of one’s life. In peripheral point of view, it is the ritual to obtain a social sanction for conjugal rights for pleasure and multiplication of own pedigree. According to Hinduism, marriage isn’t just an institution to sanctioning conjugal rights; it is something very holy and sacred that connotes to a heavenly approved relationship having links to past birth/births. However, this isn’t the topic of this blog.
This is only a contextual reference. Compatibility test or horoscope matching is an inseparable part of astrology. The objective of compatibility test is to ascertain happy and successful conjugal life.  Instead of being bliss, sometimes, a marriage may become an unbearable burden, curse of the life, a constant source of strife and strain; worry and woe.  Such mental state may impact upon one’s personality, self-respect and confidence. The horrible experience leaves deep scars, like canker. Hopes and dreams of life may shatter. Its harmful effects are not only linear; they are dimensional which invariably spoil the life of the spouses, their children, families, and relations. And, eventually, the relationship ends in a separation or divorce. So, the importance of the compatibility test of marriage presumptive couple is quite explicable.
The coffer of Indian astrology is credited with wise and authentic methods to determine the compatibility between a man and a woman so that the married life may become blissful and inclusively rewarding. The name of the method/principle in the glossary of astrology is horoscope matching; the horoscopes of the marrying couple are compared methodically for compatibility tests.  This method on the basis of astrological principles analyses whether a man and a woman are compatible to one another for the purpose of marriage in terms of their inclusive chemistry such as physical, sexual, mental, reaction to external stimuli, attitudes, taste, liking and disliking etc.
This method employs a scale of eight matrices, namely, Rashikut, Varnakut, Tarakut, Vaishyakut, Yonikut, Grahamaitreekut, Ganamaitreekut, and Naddikut. For calculation of compatibility, each of the above-stated matrices is assigned with the highest mark. The grand total mark is 36 and the minimum score required to qualify the test is 18. The division of marks is as below: –

No.1: -Rashikut: Rashikut is of 8 types: – They are counted from the moon signs of both horoscope (Presumptive bride and bridegroom)

Ø Rajjotak (Royal pair): – This condition is fulfilled when the moon signs of both horoscopes are the same or they are positioned either in the even-even or odd-odd signs at distance of 7th signs from one another, for example, Taurus and Scorpio or Aries and Libra etc. This condition is also satisfied when the moon signs of both the horoscope are at the distance of 3rd and 11th or 4th and 10th signs such as Aries and Aquarius and Aries and Capricorn etc. These four conditions fulfilment are considered as the best ones. The score is 7.
Ø Odd-Seventh: – When the moon signs of both the horoscope are placed in odd signs and at the distance of 7 signs from one another, this condition is fulfilled, for example, Aries and Libra or Leo and Aquarius. The score is ‘0’.
ØFriendly 9th – 5th: – When the moon sign of the bride is at the distance of 9 signs from the moon sign of the bridegroom, then this is a positive sign, for example, the moon signs the bridegroom and the brides are  Aries and  Sagittarius respectively. The score is 6.

Ø Ari 9th -5th: – When the moon sign of bride is 5th from the moon sign of bridegroom, this is called the Ari 9th – 5th position. The score is 3.

Ø Friendly 2nd-12th: – When the moon sign of the bride is 12th from the moon sign of bridegroom, these positions are called 2nd – 12th such as Aries-Pisces; Leo-Cancer etc. The score is 5.

Ø Ari 2nd – 12th: – When the moon sign of the bright is 2nd from the moon sign of the bridegroom, this position is called Ari 2nd-12th.  Such as Aries-Taurus; Leo- Virgo etc. The score is 3.

Ø  Friendly 6th – 8th: – If the moon sign of the bride is 8th from that of the bridegroom, then this is called friendly 6th – 8th position. The score is 4.

Ø Ari 6th – 8th: – When the moon sign of the bride is 6th from that of the bridegroom, this position is called Ari 6th – 8thThe score is 2.

No.2: -Varnakut: – The theory of varnakut is based on the zodiac signs and their casts. The zodiac signs are grouped into four Varna (caste). Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are Khshytriya varnas, Cancer Scorpio and Pisces are bipra varna, Gemini Libra, and Aquarius are Baishya varna and Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn belong to Sudra varna.

In the order of quality hierarchies, they can be arranged as Bipra varna, Khshyatriya varna, Baishya varna, and Sudra varna. When the varnas of the Bride and the bridegroom are the same or the varna of the groom is higher, then the score is 1. When the varna of the bride is higher than that of the groom the score is ‘0’.

No.3:Tarakut: -This theory of Tarakut is based on Nakshatras(Asterism of Moon). There are 27 nakshyatras. Here two types of countings are done: from the nakshyatra of the bridegroom to nakshyatra of the bride and then from the nakshyatra of the ride to the nakshyatra of bridegroom.

If in the first case the number is any one of the 1/2/4/6/8/9, then the bridegroom’s nakshyatra is cooperating. If the number is more than 9, then divide it by 9 and take the reminder.

In counting the nakshyatras from the nakshyatra of the bride to that of the bridegroom the number is any one of the 3/5/7, then it is considered non-cooperative or afflicted, and the rest are cooperative.

The score is 3 when both counting the numbers are cooperative. The score is 1 if only in one counting the number is cooperative; the score is ‘0’ when both counting results in non-cooperative.
No.4: -Vaishykut: – The Baishyakut calibration is based on the degree of moon signs. When the moon sign of the bridegroom is any one of the Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Aquarius, and Sagittarius and the degree of the   sign is between, 0° to 15°, and the moon

sign of the bride is any one of Aries Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio Capricorn, and Pisces within 0° to 15° and the Sagittarius between 15° to 30°, then this condition is cooperating; the score point is 2. In the reverse case, the score point is ‘0’.

No.5: – Yonikut: – (actually, this method is meant to measure the compatibility between the sex organs/productive organs of the marriage presumptive couple): – This is one of the most important tests amongst the compatibility tests of a couple.

This test is based on the nakshyatras (moon asterism) of the couple to be married. In this method nakshyatras are linked with the genitals of certain animals and then grouped as compatible and non-compatible. The linking of nakshyatras with the genitals of animals is shown in the following table: –

When the moon sign lords of the bridegroom and the bride are the same,   the score point is 5, if friendly, the score point is 4; if neutral, the point is 3, and if an enemy, the score point is 0.

No.7: – Gana-maitreekut/ Ganakut: – This method is based on three division of the humanity: i) Deva-gana (the divinity), ii) Nara-gana (human being), and iii) Rakshyas-gana (the demons). If the Ganamaitreekut/Ganakut of the bridegroom and the bride are the same the score point is 6, if Nara-Gana & Deva-Gana then the scoring point is 5, if Deva-gana and Rakshyas-Gane the score point is 3, if Nara-Gana and Rakshyas-Gane, the score point is 2, and in others the scoring point is 1.

No.8: – Naddikkut: – Naddiut is based on the nakshyatras. The 27 nakshyatras are grouped into three equal groups: i) Prang Naddi (the front naddi), ii) Madhya Naddi(the middle naddi), and iii) Pristha Naddi(hind naddi) The division is as follows ( the 27 nakshyatras are represented by numbers).

Naddis

Nakshyatras (innumber)

Prang Naddi/Addi Naddi(Front Naddi)

1,6,7,12,13,18,19,24,25

2,5,8,11,14,17,2023,26

Pristha Naddi(Hind Naddi)

3,4,9,10,15,16,21,22,27

When the Naddis of the bridegroom and the bride are same the score point is 8 and when different the score point is 0.

If the grand total score point is not less than 18 at the end of all the above discussed 8 divisions, then the married life will be happy.
