The zodiac signs, Nakshyatras (Asterisms), Vabas (Houses) and the Planets are the four dimensions on which the basis of the astrology rests. The objective of this post is to present a gist about the connectivity between the zodiac signs (Rashis) and asterisms (Nakshyatras from the perspective of the Indian Astrology.
The zodiac is a belt (area) extending about 9° on either side (9°+9°=18°) of the ecliptic. The zodiac is 360° comprising 12 signs and 27 nakshatras. Each sign is of 30° (30×12=360°) and nakshatra 13°-20´ (13°-20´×27=360°). The 12 signs and their lords are shown in the following table.

Each nakshyatra is subdivided into 4 equal divisions called quarters or Padas. Thus each quarter or pada is comprised of 3°-20´ (4×3°-20´=13°-20´).
Each of the zodiac sign is composed of 3 nakshatras in the fixed proportions as tabulated below: –

From the above table, it is clear that in a given birth-chart each house is linked with planet/planets by its/their position in the house and nakshatras according to the longitudinal degree/ degrees of the house and the planets.
Even when there is no planet in a house, a nakshatra is unavoidably linked to the house according to the house sign and the degree. So the relationship between the signs of the zodiac, the house of horoscope, planets, and nakshatras are inalienable and have combined effects on our efforts for actions.
The End.
