This post is the first part of the series of the twelve houses or Cusps of Horoscope. A horoscope is consists of 12 houses. The whole events of life from the moment of gaining entry to this material world to the moment of taking exit from here are manifested through these twelve houses. These houses actually represent the 12 primary states and functions in our individual life (not in the national life and govern matters). The names of the houses are as follows:-
1st House or Tanu Sthan (House of Self) 2nd House or Dhana Sthan (House of Finance) 3rd House or Bharti Sthan (House of Silings) 4th House or Sukh Sthan/Matri Sthan/Bandhu Sthan/ Bidya Sthan (House of Comfort/Mother) 5th House or Putra Sthan (House of Progeny) 6th House or Ripu Sthan/Satru Sthan (House of Enemy & Disease) 7th House or Jaya Sthan (House of Spouse) 8th House or AAyu Sthan (House of Longivity) 9th House or Bhagya Sthan (House of Fortune & Luck) 10th House or Karma Sthaan (House of Profession/Occupation) 11th House or Aaie Sthan (House of income & Desire) 12th House or Baya Sthan (House of Loss).
The above are the identification names. If fact, each of the houses represent numerous things, stuff, actions and functions. What each house represents is discussed below in detail.
1st House: – The first house is called the Lagna or the Ascendant. The zodiac sign that arises in the East direction of the sky at the moment of birth of a child is the Lagna/Ascendant or the 1st house. In other words the Lagna is the entrance or door through which a child takes entry to this world.
The Lagna controls and coordinates the actions and functions of other 11 houses. So, it plays very, very instrumental role in evolving, designing, shaping and directing the course of one’s life; it is the controller of fortune. The Lagna gives clear signal whether or not an individual will be able to apply his/her inherent intelligence, knacks, and aptitudes in collaboration with the environment to meet the desired growth in life. The Lagna can exactly be compared with ‘genetic’ who through its ‘code’ controls the features and characteristics in a plant or living being.
So, the Lagna represents the ‘Self’, self esteem, physical settings or constitution, head, brain, mind, appearance and looks, health, physical complexion, personality, persona, lineage, ancestral inclination, dwelling, outlook of life, tendency, attitude, mental inclination, determination, diligence, fortune and misfortune, and wins and defeats.
2nd House: – 2nd house is the house of finance. It gives us information about monetary matters, flow of money, financial state and position, bank balance, movable property, shares, bonds, securities, jewelry, valuable games and stones, antiques, and anything rare and valuable. This house also indicates speech, voice, eloquence, early childhood, relatives, furniture, clothing, shoes, habit, face, right eye, eye-sight, cheeks, chin, nose, tongue, ear, teeth, fingers, nails, flesh and bones. 2nd house also has ruling over cereals, seeds, food, food habit, scented and aromatic stuff, and anything eatables. It also represents our pre-primary, and primary label education
3rd House: – 3rd house is also called the house of younger siblings, courage, bravery, valor, guts, fervor and determination, resoluteness and memory power. Anatomically, this house represents our neck, throat, collar bones, hands, ears, and breathing system.
All type of transport and communication system are under the ruling of the 3rd house, such as, conveyance of goods and people, short travels, print media, electronic media, telecommunication, radio, television, phones, mobiles, and social media, typing and stenography.
Hobbies, manual arts, competitions, library, publication, printing work, writing skill, especially short stories, essay, articles, play, poetry, research work, recitation skill, mimicry, editing, journalism, and journalist are under the jurisdiction of 3rd house. 3rd house also rules over profession like salesman, commission agency and agent, meetings, seminar, congregation, interview, rumor, hearsay, gossip, contractual work, investigation and probing.
