Naba Tara means
nine constellations. The foundation of Naba Tara technique is based on the
concept of Muhurta. Normally, the
duration of a Muhurta is 48 minutes. There are 30 Muhurts in a day (day and
night): 24 hrs X 60 minutes ÷48 = 30 and 28 Nakshatas (including the Abhijeet
nakshatra). The lords of the Muhurts and the Nakshatra are the same.
The Janma
Nakshatra is the principal Nakshatra on which a native’s edifice of whole life,
birth to death, rests and defines the nature and sequence of live events. The rising moment of the Muhurta defined by
Janma Nakshatra, Shannadi chakra
Nakshatra and Nabatara Nakshatras
indicates whether good or bad happens to a native.
The Naba Tara concept is based on the postulate that the
Nakshatras situated at the distance of
120° (triangle aspect) from one another represent uniform traits. Counting from
the Aswini Nakshatra, the very starting point of the zodiac in the sign of
Aries, the Magha Nakshatra, in the Leo sign stands at 120°; likewise, from the
Magha Nakshatra, the Moola Nakshatra in Sagittarius sign; and
from Sagittarius, the Aswini in Aries stand 120° from each other. By
serial order, they stand at 9th place from one another (13°-20´X9=120°).
The same degree difference is applicable for all the nakshatras standing at the
9th place from one another.
How is the Naba Tara Chakra drawn?
Therefore, the Nabatara is drawn by arranging
nine Nakshatras in sequence starting from the the Janma Nakshatra each
of which is sequentially named as 1) Janma Tara, 2) Sampad Tara, 3) Bipad Tara,
4) Xem Tara, 5) Pratyari Tara, 6) Sadhak Tara, 7) Badh Tara, 8) Mitra Tara, and
9)Ati Mitra Tara. After that, each of these nine Taras (Nakshatras/ constellations)
is followed by other two Taras following the principle of 120° distance from
one another.
This way for one Janma Tara, one set of Naba Tara Chakra is drawn.
So, all the 27 Nakshatras are included in each set of Naba Tara chakra. Of
these Naba Taras, the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th
and 9th Tara; Sampad Tara, Xem Tara, Sadhak Tara, Mitra Tara, and
Ati Mitra Tara are considered auspicious and the rest unauspicious.

Usefulness of Naba Tara: –
1) For
conducting anything auspicious the Naba taras are consulted. Moon’s transition
on to the above mentioned auspicious Tara is considered as a propitious time
for conducting or starting an auspicious thing.
2) Moon’s transition on
to a particular Tara influences the results of Dashas and Gochara favourably or
unfavourably. During the Malefic
planet’s Dasha period, if that planet transits onto a favourable Tara then the
intensity of evil is mitigated and vice-versa.
3) If Moon is afflicted by malefic, then the childhood health
will be troubled by sickness or unfavourable environment.
