Timing of Marriage.

Marriage is one of the rites of passage of our life. The Hindus consider it as one of the sixteenth sacramental rites of life. It’s one of the major methods of socialization. Some say it makes human life complete and meaningful; while some other say, you will regret if you do not have it and doubly regret if you   have it.

When one grows up to marriageable age (above 18 years of age), the parents/ guardians become much concerned about the marriage of their children.  On the other hand, the ones who intend to get married become curious about their future life partner.

Cycle of birth and death and RARABHDHA  KARMA (accumulation of the karma of past births) and ARJIT KARMA (acquired karma of this birth) are the basic postulates of astrology.

And thus it is believed that one’s   life partner and the time of marriage are pre- defined by the super natural power; we are just part of the occasion.

The astrology can decode such heavenly defined equations such as the profile of the bride/bridegroom, distance and direction of his/her home and timing of marriage.

To predict such things with precession needs high degree of mastery over this topic and it is very comprehensive as well. Nonetheless, I am trying to discuss some of the basic rules about only the timing of marriage.

Section:-A
Ø  All clues regarding ones marriage is given by the 7th house (Vaba) of the zodiac of his/her birth chart.
Ø Before going onto other details, it is necessary to examine whether or not the native of the chart has bibah yoga (marriage) in his/her life.

Ø    With the 7th house, the placement of the lord of the 7th house, strength of the 7th house and its lord need to be meticulously examined.

Ø The next thing is to see the aspects the 7th lord is paying and it is receiving.
Ø The D9 chart is the must to consult to corroborate the information received from the 7th house of the birth chart.

Sectio ern B: – (application)
Ø Check out the Dasha or rulling periods of planets. (I myself prefer the Bimshottary and Yogini Dashas.)
Ø The marriage takes place during the Mahadasha and/ or Antardasha Periods of 2nd or/and 7th or/ and 11 house lord/lords. During the periods of 8th or 12th house lords also, marriage is possible.

Gochar or Transition:-
Ø Then next to confirm timing found from the dasha periods, check out the Gochar (transition) position of the lords of those 2nd, 7th and 11 houses. These planets must transit to 2nd, 7th and 11th houses from the ascendant or aspect those houses either in the birth chart or in D9 chart.

Ø Venus in the man’s chart or Jupiter in the woman’s chart transits the Navamsha occupied by the lord of the ascendant or a sign which is at the 5th or 9th position from it.
Ø The lord of the Ascendant transits the 7th house.

Systematic and careful application of the above basic principles can give about 80% result. For 100% result few advance methods and techniques need to be applied.

In the next blog I shall discuss about the method of determining the distance and direction of the bride’s or bridegroom’s house.
